Mostly4Macs - welcome to the website

One of the main reasons that I first created the Mostly4Macs.co.uk website was to answer some of the most common questions that I get asked by people which relate to iPods, the internet, websites and computers in general.

Anyone who has seen me over the past few months will probably know that I aggravated an old tendon injury to my thumb several months ago. The result being that typing has been very slow and painful. As a result of this much opf the work on revising the website had to be put on hold for quite a while - but is now (finally) almost done.
Feel free to make use of the site and whatever benefits it can offer, but please do not contact me at the moment about any broken links, typos, spelling mistakes, etc. Of course if you find the website mildly useful at the moment it should hopefully become even more useful once it's finally finished.

about website contents

The content which exists (as well as content which is being worked on as you read this) has all been chosen in an attempt to answer commonly asked questions. The most common theme amongst these questions tends to relate to use of the internet and surfing around the world wide web and more specifically requests for websites. Because of this the links pages have been the first part of this site to receive significant attention, updating and expansion.

about onsite graphics

You will probably notice the absence of flashy graphics on this website. This is due to a deliberate decision based on the fact that many people who have asked me the questions which have in turn inspired this website have older computers and dial-up internet connections. The combination of flashy graphics (which have larger file sizes), older computers (which are slower and have less memory) and dial-up internet connections (which are slower) will generally lead to frustration. As a result I have tried to keep graphics in general to a minimum.

about onsite advertising

The other (flashing) graphics which you will find an absence of on this website are those created by advertising banners. You won't see any beacuse there aren't any. Personally I find it distracting to have flashing advertising banners on a webpage that I'm trying to read and concentrate on.
Some of the links pages do however contain affiliate advertising links - this means that if you use the link and then purchase something I might receive a small amount of money as a referal payment. It costs me money to make this website available and these affiliate referal payments can help towards me paying for you to be able to access my website.
I do not collect (or have access to) any personal details through these affiliate links. In addition it is worth making it clear that all links appear on the Mostly4Macs website purely due to their own merits. The existance (or lack of existance) of affiliate advertising oportunities does not have any influence upon my choice of the links which I do or do not list.
